Activities for Everyone

Our book fair offers families the opportunity to meet authors, illustrators, publishers, educators, book sellers, distributors, and educational programs.  In addition, many fun activities will be available for everyone to enjoy.  Come join the fun!

Special Guest Authors

Meet and get autographs from award-winning children's book authors

Natasha Yim

She is the author of several picture books, including Goldy Luck and the Three Pandas (Charlesbridge Publishing, 2014), a Junior Library Guild and Scholastic Book Club selection, The Rock Maiden (Wisdom Tales Press), 2017), Mulan’s Lunar New Year (Disney Press, 2018), and Luna’s Yum Yum Dim Sum (Charlesbridge Publishing, 2020). Two nonfiction titles on the Lunar New Year were released in 2023, one by Jump! Publishing and the other by Quarto Books. Natasha’s nonfiction articles have been published in the children’s magazines “Highlights for Children,” “Faces,” “Appleseeds,” and “Muse.”

Dana Green

Dana Green, a Buddhist nun and award-winning author, founded Instilling Goodness Books to help children connect with their spirituality. A prolific writer, she is passionate about educating and inspiring young readers to respect others, their parents, and the earth. Her books include Giant Turtle's Long Nap, Guan Yin: the Buddha's Helper, and Prince Siddhartha & the Bully. Beyond writing, she finds joy in studying and cultivating native and healing plants.

Kate Marianchild

Author of Secrets of the Oak Woodlands: Plants and Animals among California’s Oaks.  She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from UC Berkeley in 1976 with a degree in comparative
literature. During and after college, she was a grassroots activist, working on issues such as the Vietnam War, women’s health, worker empowerment, feminism, and the environment.  She currently leads walks, gives talk, teaches classes, and speaks up at county supervisors’ hearings in defense of oak woodlands and wildlife and in support of climate change activism.

PROTECT MOTHER EARTH

In an effort to reduce waste and garbage, a ReUSE booth will be available with gently used items such as backpacks, mugs, folders, school supplies, etc. Everyone is welcome to browse and pick up an item for free.

Pick up a FREE gently used item at our ReUSE booth! One item per person.

Vegetarian Food
A variety of delicious vegetarian food by Jyun Kang Restaurant will be available for purchase.  This is special food made for the book fair only.
